Uddingston police are conducting an investigation into the death of a man that occurred on Sunday night. It was approximately 7:37 p.m. on Sunday when the man, who was 38 years old, was discovered in the General Gates area with critical injuries.
It was reported in a statement that was issued by Police Scotland this morning that he was transported by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital; however, he had already passed away by the time they arrived at the hospital.
Officers are said to be present at the location as the investigation into the man’s death continues, according to the sources. Despite the fact that a portion of Old Glasgow Road has been blocked off, the region surrounding General Gates continues to be the scene of intensive police action this morning. There was also tape that was stretched over a walkway that led to Uddingston Grammar School.
The area was searched with torches by law enforcement authorities while a number of police vehicles, including vans and automobiles, were parked at the top of the hill. In order for residents who live inside the cordon to leave and return, they have been required to obtain permission from the officers who are now present at the location.
