After being involved in a fatal vehicle accident on Sunday, September 29, morning, a taekwondo instructor from Searcy has been in the hospital, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries and fighting for his life. According to the investigation of the collision, Fernando Farfan and his wife were travelling on Highway 67 North in Lonoke County when they were struck while they were stopped in traffic for an accident that was not related to them.
The accident resulted in the death of his wife, and Farfan is currently in serious condition at a hospital in the near vicinity. He was later pronounced dead by the after succumbing to his injuries.
In order to help him during this trying time, those who are close to him have been banding together. Fernando Farfan, was the proprietor of Farfan’s Taekwondo in Searcy.
As the community works through the aftermath of the tragedy, the taekwondo dojo will remain closed for the duration of this week. There is more to Master Farfan than just his role as a taekwondo instructor. All of his students, including Howell and his children, look up to him as a guide and mentor.
