Chris Ryan of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, singer, song-writer, producer, musician, drummer and vocalist has sadly died. The news of his death was publicized on several Facebook pages. His death have left so many hearts completely broken and devastated. At the time of this writing his cause of death was not disclosed by his family. He will be definitely missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his family and fans. His funeral plans and obituary will be announced by his family at later date.

Who was Chris Ryan?
Making records is where he spent the most of his time. The most recent production credentials include sessions with Just Mustard and NewDad, as well as tracks that have been played on BBC Radio 1 and KEXP, and that have also been included on the play-list of the BBC 6 Music A-list. He produced albums that have received praise from publications such as NME, Clash, DIY, The Quietus, and others. These albums have also been nominated for the Choice Music Prize and the Northern Ireland Music Prize.

His worked with bands and solo artists is not the only thing he did; He also interacted with composers in the classical world. He worked on technologically-mediated pieces for the Ulster Orchestra as well as art installations utilising Max/MSP software. His music has been used in both television and movies, and he also a writer and composer. This includes scoring a number of short films, such as the BBC Two Minute Masterpiece Cycle, as well as providing sync for the HBO documentary Game of Thrones: The Last Watch.

During his time as the British Council/PRS Foundation Musician in Residence in Brazil the previous year, he was able to release a solo album titled SORBET. This album was a combination of his interests in classical music, improvisation, and electronic production.
He was the drummer and vocalist for the band Robocobra Quartet, and while he was not in the studio, he was typically writing, recording, and travelling with another band called Robocobra Quartet. He performed with the band at a variety of festivals, including Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival, and even the Inversia Festival, which is located in the polar artic.
