Cayden Daniel Mahr of Bushnell, Illinois, who was a 23-year-old farmer has died. He died as a result of injuries he sustained during a farming accident on October 5, 2024.He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

On June 14, 2001, in the city of Peoria, Illinois, Cayden Daniel Mahr, who is now 23 years old, was born to his parents, Daniel Robert and Naydeen Jan (Blout) Mahr. He received his associate’s degree in Diesel and Power Systems Technology from Spoon River College after graduating from A-Town High School in 2019. He also graduated from Spoon River High School.

During his time in high school, Cayden participated in the FFA, on top of playing football and basketball. Despite being the only senior on the team, Cayden was able to guide A-Town to a season record of 20-9, which earned him the title of All-Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year for 2019. While he was serving as president of the FFA, he also got his FFA State Degree.
Cayden fell in love with every facet of existence. In his entire life, he has been a diligent worker who has always had a strong interest in farming, trucking, and boating. Cayden was at the pinnacle of his success when he was out on the water, whether it was in Little Swan Lake, the Ozarks, or the Gulf of Mexico. He had an incredible ability to ski on water. Additionally, he enjoyed snowmobiling and snow skiing throughout the winter months.
His most ardent passion was farming. Although he was still a little child, he started working at Blout Farms alongside his father, uncle, and grandfather. Cayden was capable of doing everything. It was possible for him to operate any machine that had a key. With great pride, he was the proprietor of Prairie Brothers Farms.
The Aaron and Julie Blout machine shed, which can be found at 22320 E 2200th Street in Prairie City, Illinois, will be the location of the visitation with family that will take place on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Blout machine shed will serve as the location for the funeral ceremonies that will be place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Cayden Mahr Scholarship, which will be awarded to graduating seniors upon their completion of their studies.
