The human head and hands found in January by the new proprietor of a recently sold home at 2988 Pinyon Avenue have been identified by the Mesa County Coroner’s Office. Amanda Leariel Overstreet, a resident of Harris County and Grand Junction, Texas, has been identified as the victim of the Pinyon Avenue homicide case by officials.
Overstreet, who was the biological daughter of the previous occupant, was estimated to be approximately 16 years old at the time of her disappearance. She had not been seen or heard from since April 2005. According to officials, there is no trace of her being reported missing.
In a press release, the coroner’s office stated that the remainder of her corpse has not yet been located. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office stated that the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are still under investigation, and forensic testing of evidence is currently underway.
