Peter Linkletter from Ottawa, Ontario, has tragically passed away. The volunteer non-profit board chair and dynamic bilingual public sector executive recently passed away. His injuries from the terrible vehicle accident claimed his life. The mishap took place on September 30. Many people’s hearts have been left utterly broken and grieved by his passing. His community will always be affected by him. Everyone who knew and loved him will truly miss him.
So many were devastated to learn that their great friend and bandmate, Peter Linkletter, had died in a horrible accident earlier this week. Peter was an amazing person who made a positive impact on everyone he came in contact with. Peter was a committed and passionate public worker who began his career as a touring musician in North America. In addition to making other significant donations, he chaired the board of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. He was a terrific community leader and a proud cancer survivor. In support of those causes, Peter led his band to many wonderful events.
He has over 25 years of experience leading seven complex, politically charged, unionized, and multi-stakeholder organizations as a progressive, visionary figure. He was a kind, creative, results-oriented individual who was fluent in two languages and enjoyed taking on new tasks.
At Correctional Service Canada, he oversaw research, policy, and strategic planning in his role as Assistant Commissioner, Policy. In addition, he addressed issues related to offender restitution and human rights, requests for access to information and privacy, and concerns raised by the Correctional Investigator. Furthermore, I was honored to serve as his company’s Departmental 2SLGBTQIA+ Champion, representing inclusivity and diversity.
His funeral arrangements and obituary will be announced by his family at a later time.
