Sarah Haselhorst Beaufort, South Carolina, who was a Coastal Climate Reporter has sadly died. She was one of those reporters from Port Royal, South, Carolina, and a graduate from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a knack of excellence in her role as a reporter. It was last weekend when she passed away in her flat in Port Royal. 31 was her age. Her death for so many, have left them completely bereaved and heart broken. She will be missed by her family, her office and her community. At the time of this report, there no formal announced cause of death, it has not announced if she died naturally, murder or suicide.
For more than two years, Sarah’s name has been at the top of the list of stories in The Island Packet. Prior to that, her name has also been featured in newspapers in Mississippi, Ohio, and Missouri, where she was born and raised. Aside from covering health and medical news, breaking news, and general assignments, she mostly covered weather, nature, and climate issues in the Lowcountry. However, she also covered general assignments. She was a talented journalist who never failed to ask a question, followed by another and another one, and if she was given the opportunity, she would ask still another one.
On the other hand, the loss that her death creates in the newsroom at The Island Packet is insignificant in comparison to the void that she leaves in the lives of those who knew her on a personal level. In addition to being a devoted friend, she took great pleasure in preparing delicious meals for her folks and baking croissants. She was a leader who had a strong sense of humour and was also a kind and encouraging person. She had a meticulous attention to detail when it came to AP Style, punctuation standards, and spelling. She enjoyed the promenade at The Sands in Port Royal, but her favourite spot was anywhere she could be with a book. Her favourite place was anywhere for anything. It was her kitties that she cherished the most.
Her funeral details and obituary will be announced by her family at a later date.
