Emily Wood of Durham, Ontario, passed away on Thursday, October 10, at about 5pm at Chapman’s House after her battle with childhood brain cancer. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Emily was 17 years old. According to her family, she was hospitalized from August 18th to September 19th for an infection from her shunt. During her stay, they found out her cancer had progressed and she was no longer eligible for the Sick Kids trial.
She was truly one heck of a fighter, facing every challenge with strength and grace. Her spirit and kindness touched everyone around her, and her laughter will forever echo in our hearts. Her spirit and kindness touched everyone around her, and her laughter will forever echo in hearts.
Her family would really love for you to still come out and celebrate and remember their amazingly fierce daughter at a tribute event on Saturday, October 19, from 2pm. According to Christina Wood, “This event is going to be an incredible tribute to our amazing baby. Everyone please join us in a day filled with fun and laughter doing the things she loved the most”
