On Friday evening, shortly before 10 o’clock, there was a fatal accident that occurred in Thomas County. It was reported by the Kansas Highway Patrol that a 2007 Ford F250 pickup truck driven by Kade Homm, who is 18 years old and is from Flagler, Colorado, was travelling southbound on County Road 21 just at the County Road CC Junction.
An accident occurred when the pickup truck went off the road and collided with a row of trees at the Y intersection of County Road 21 and a private property.
An individual named Emma C. Brungardt, who was a passenger and was 21 years old and from Blue Rapids, Kansas, was pronounced deceased at the site and was taken to Baalmann Mortuary.
Homm and the passengers Alaura Crockett-Armijo, 20, of Larned, Kerstin S. Tommer, 19, of Newton, Lakeddah J. Downes, 18, of Council Grove, and Emma G. Krase, 18, of Galva were transferred to Citizens Medical Centre by emergency medical services after the accident. According to the KHP, all six were adequately confined in their environments.
