County officials have identified the motorcyclist who was fatally injured in a collision in Oceanside. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office reports that Karl Trayvilla, age 30, passed away as a result of the collision that occurred on Coast Highway, just south of West Street.
According to the Oceanside police, Trayvilla was riding his motorbike in the southbound direction on Saturday afternoon when the front tire of his motorcycle collided with the rear wheel of a motorcycle that was in front of him. Trayvilla was seen wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
During the collision, both riders were thrown from their vehicles. Trayvilla was struck by a Toyota Yaris that was also travelling south on Coast Highway. The other rider proceeded passed the car and collided with the side of another passenger vehicle.
It was determined that Trayvilla had suffered severe head and chest damage, and he passed away at the hospital. As a result of injuries sustained, the second rider was treated at the site. Both drivers in the vehicles were unharmed in the collision.The investigation is still being carried out.
