Tom Curran, a News Anchor from Tampa, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was a long time morning news anchor for Fox 13 in Tampa. He was 70 years old.
Beginning in the beginning of 2008, he disclosed to both his employer and the audience that he suffers from a movement condition that is brought on by an inadequate number of healthy dopamine-producing cells in the brain. Since then, in addition to his profession in television, he has become actively involved in raising awareness about Parkinson’s disease among the general public.
The members of the local Parkinson’s group understood his initial denial because they had either been through it themselves or had experienced it with close friends and relatives that were close to him. Every person has experienced the challenge of determining when they feel comfortable telling other people.
